Biography

Greg is a member of the Firm’s Litigation Department, having joined in 1981 as an associate and is currently a full equity member. Previously, he served as an assistant prosecuting attorney in Saginaw, Michigan (1979-1981). Since joining the firm, Greg has practiced throughout the state of Michigan on arson and fraud-related issues in the first party property context as well as defense of third party actions in automobile, property and liability areas.

 

Representative Experience

In 2002, he prosecuted a subrogation matter which resulted in a settlement of $5,975,000 which ranked in the top fifteen verdicts and settlements in Michigan for that year.

 

He was the trial attorney in the case of Lichon v American Universal Insurance Co., which resulted in the amendment of the Michigan Rules of Evidence which allows for the use of a nolo-based plea conviction when the criminal defendant seeks insurance proceeds in the civil context.

 

He was also involved at the trial level in the case of Masters v Frankenmuth Mutual which established the bright line test for defining what constitutes an occurrence in Section 2 liability coverages.
