David J. Kolat advises clients on a broad range of business matters, including entity formation (limited liability companies and corporations), entity governance, contract negotiations, and buying and selling businesses. He also works with clients on commercial real estate matters and estate planning.

He has served as a board member of various Saginaw charitable organizations including the Saginaw Valley Zoological Society, and has provided legal services for the Zoo, the Saginaw Art Museum, the Temple Theatre and the Saginaw Community Foundation.
