Robert A. Kendrick’s practice centers around representing employers in arbitration proceedings and general advise to both public and private unionized employers on employee disciplinary matters and a variety of employee related matters.

He is the former chairperson of the Firm’s Labor and Employment Law practice group and has practiced exclusively in labor relations and employment areas since 1976. He has been involved in over 200 labor elections. He has acted as chief negotiator for management for both private and public employers in the bargaining of over 200 collective bargaining agreements involving a minimum of 20 different labor organizations – e.g., AFSCME, UAW, SEIU, Teamsters and Steelworkers. He has represented employers on numerous occasions in unfair labor practice proceedings before the Michigan Employment Relations Commission (MERC) and National Labor Relations Board (NLRB), Act 312 arbitration proceedings, and fact finding proceeding pursuant to the Michigan Public Employment Relations Act.

He has extensive experience with both federal and state mediators in the context of labor negotiations as well in the drafting of employee handbooks and employment-related policies.
